Insomnia during pregnancy
In late pregnancy sleep may not come easily. The baby's movements, muscle cramps, breathing difficulties, and the frequent need to urinate may combine to keep you awake. A short walk before retiring, a warm shower, or a glass of warm milk or cocoa may help you fall asleep more quickly. If insomnia persists, tell your doctor. Do not take sleeping medications unless prescribed.
You al so may find you tire more easily. Be sure to rest after exercise.
Pregnancy and oversleeping
Some women say they "slept their way through pregnancy." Most pregnant women do sleep more, especially in the early months. Your nightly slumber may stretch from eight to nine hours, arid you may al so find that you want to take an afternoon nap.
